I bought a beautiful notebook….I never want to write or draw in them really, they mostly are.. afraid to ruin them from the inside out.. This time I decided to go right ahead and reserve this beauty for personal thoughts, notes and drawings. These are the thoughts from today.
I ran into an excellent post on reasons why in so many companies innovation programs fail. There are several basic things that need to be in order for a vision to actually embed into a company, or for a culture change to actually happen.
“My shoes and me, we come a long way :)”
Adobe ideas, endless zooming made it possible to dot dot dot in a lot a shades…
Despite all the recent talk of decentralized management, empowered employees, and horizontal processes, the large industrial organization continues to dominate the economy today…… but we see sign of a counterphenomenon: the disintegration of the larger corporation.
A beautiful city, Rome, one of my absolute favorite. Gorgeous buildings, light, paintings, food. These chairs however, felt a bit off. Left out on St peter’s square for the next mass probably. But it looked liked a scene from a movie, of a desolate city, an abandoned world.
As tech startups start to disrupt markets where enterprises ruled for decades, the need for innovation becomes bigger. Some turn to me and ask; “-Can you help us do lean customer development.” “-Can you help us think more visually.” “-Can you help us be more like a lean startup.” “-Can you help us be more innovative.” And although that first realization, by at least the one person that asks, that somethings need to change is a good start. It is no where enough for that company to stay on top.
Neelie Smit Kroes called out on twitter recently “Calling all millennials! Sign our #startupmanifesto”. I think we should and not just the millennials amongst us. The more people sign it, support it and the measures proposed, the more likely actual actions will be undertaken to make sure the manifest will become more than just that.
We went to Venice for a couple of days last month, a beautiful city, with visual treasures around every single corner, and there are many. I’ve posted a selection of pictures on Flick for you all to enjoy.
This iPad doodle is a little detail of a Venetian gondola.. all of them are beautifully adorned or decorated.
Came across this string of baby clothing displayed along Venetian colored houses over a canal. Congratulations, I thought, a boy and a girl 🙂
